- Cited for bravery for his service at Chateau Theirry, France. Gassed at Argonne-Meuse and received burns on his legs from the gas.
Charter member and first associate commander of the American Legion Post organized in West Brookfield on Dec. 30, 1919. He was installed as commander of the post on 19 October 1933.
