To date I have not found a marriage record for Desdemona Bump and William E. Gilbert; however, she is named as the wife of William Gilbert in the 1900 and 1910 U. S. Censuses taken in Brimfield, Hampden, MA. William's obituary says he left a wife, not named. The record of Desdemona's marriage in 1915 to Emery Jennings, names her as Desdemona (Bump) Gilbert and indicates it is her second marriage.

This is a collection of American passport applications that includes passport applications from 1795-1925, passport amendment and extension applications from 1912-1925, and a register of passport applications that cover most of the same years Passport applications often include information regarding an applicant's family status, date and place of birth, residence, naturalization (if foreign-born), and other biographical information. Twentieth-century applications often include marriage and family information as well as dates, places, and names of ships used for travel.

He worked at the Golden Gate Cafe in 1940. He was held up and beaten over the head with a hammer after being mistaken for the cafe's owner.
